Contribute

Contributors are paid a small fee for their work, which does not necessarily correspond to the magnitude of their contribution. Contributors retain full copyright of their works, while agreeing to license distribution and resale rights to the publishers for the life of the publishing organizations. Contributors are encouraged to make their works available for open public distribution and reasonable use by others through the Creative Commons attribution, non-commercial, share-alike license.

Acceptance of solicited and unsolicited submissions for publication is entirely at the discretion of the editorial staff. Works of creative, artistic or scholarly merit may be declined for publication for editorial reasons including, but not limited to, length, tone, or "fit" with other journal contents. Currently, GLIMPSE's rate of publication for unsolicited submissions is approximately 25%. Approximately 25% of unsolicited submissions are declined, and 50% are kept on file for possible future publication in issues which may have a better thematic fit with the work than the issue for which it was submitted.

Articles/Essays

Time commitment: approximately 15 hours

GLIMPSE accepts submissions ranging from 500 to 2,500 words. Longer submissions will not be accepted.

Since GLIMPSE is an interdisciplinary publication, contributors must be interested in writing for a diverse audience. Our review committee is comprised of scholars and professionals from diverse fields, and contributors' submissions will usually be reviewed by people from disciplines differing from their own. This ensures that the content remains accessible to a broad audience, and that contributors who are specialists in their fields can benefit from "outsiders'" perspectives on, and appreciation of, their work. Contributors should avoid the use of discipline-specific jargon, and take the time to explain discipline-specific concepts.

By being published in GLIMPSE, you agree to become a member of our review committee, and will occasionally be asked to review submissions by other authors from a variety of fields.
